The 29th Annual Sports Meet was celebrated on the 10th of November 2011.

presided over the meet
The Chief Guest unfurled the school flag and declared the Sports Meet
open. This was followed by the March Past and the lighting of the ceremonial
torch. The well orchestrated programme included events like karate display,
yoga demonstration and a pyramid formation. The competition culminated
with the distribution of the coveted awards.
The 28th Annual sports Meet of our school was celebrated on the 11th of November 2010.
The chief guest for the day was Mr. Sajan Bopanna, an Alumnus of our school who is a
National Snooker Champion, ranked No. 1 in Karnataka and ranked No.4 in India in 2009.
The young Chief Guest and the students blended well to make the day a grand success.
The well orchestrated events like yoga demonstration, pyramid formation and karate
display along with the relays brought forth sporting excellence. The day concluded
with the Cauvery House bagging the sports shield for the year 2010 – 2011.
Children’s Day celebrations were held on the eve of 14th November’10.
The faculty of Sree Cauvery entertained the children with a variety of cultural programmes.
The event brought forth smiles on the young faces.
The Inter House Competition for High School (Std 8th, 9th & 10th) was conducted
on the 4th of November 2010. Narmada House emerged as the winners.
The 65th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor and the
spirit of nationalism on the 15th of August 2011. The programme began
with the unfurling of the Tricolour by the Chief Guest Brig. (Rtd) M.M.
The school choir rendered a few patriotic numbers and the Chief Guest
spoke about the souls of the soil.
CCA ACTIVITIES AT SCHOOL
The CCA activities are in progress at school.
The Fancy dress competition was held on Friday the 21st of July 2010 between 8.45 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. in the school auditorium. About 30 students from all the three sections i.e. II A, B & C took part in this competition.
Tarun S. of Std II Sec ‘A’ of Narmada House as Viswamitra bagged the first place.
Vikas Poojari of Std II sec ‘B’ of Ganga House, as grapes bunch bagged the second place.
Sneha Natarajan of Std II Sec’C’ of Godavari House as Goddess Parvathi bagged the third place.
The Middle School Music competition was held on the 10th of August 2010. Four students from each house participated in the event.
The competition was categorized into four sections such as – Devotional, Patriotic, Folk and Filmy. The winners were as follows:

The installation of Office Bearers of the Interact Club of Sree Cauvery
School was held on the 19th of July 2010 at the Rotary House of Service,
Miss Keerthana M.S. – President, Master Sripradha M. – Secretary and other
Office Bearers were presented their badges and portfolios by RTN. Suresh
RTN. R. Suri Menon delivered a motivating speech on the “Drivers of Leadership”.
A Humanitarian Thought
The members of the Interact Club involved the entire school into their
humanitarian initiative of an akki/vidya/vastra dhan and a collection
of old newspapers. Each student donated a fist of rice, some a pen or
pencil and some a bundle of old newspapers. Students make paper bags from
these old newspapers and encourage neighbouring shops to use paper bags
instead of plastic bags.
The school’s NCC troupe and the Scouts & Guides also participated
in the event enthusiastically.
On the 5th of June our students celebrated “World Environmental Day” by
performing a skit.
They started with the method of segregating garbage into ‘bio’ and ‘non bio degradable’ waste. The students also pledged to contribute their bit in keeping the environment clean starting with the proper use of dustbins to planting trees.
The science club was inaugurated on this day with the motto “Go Green”.
Rally for a cause.
The NCC Cadets of 1 KAR Bn. of Sree Cauvery School went on a cycle rally
on the 4th of June as a symbolic gesture to bring awareness to the society
stating ‘NOT TO USE TOBACCO”. The rally went around Indiranagar, Ulsoor
and 100 feet road.
The greatest wealth to mankind is health.
We at Sree Cauvery School had organized for a Medical Camp by the Fortis Hospitals Ltd earlier known as Wockhardt Hospitals, for our faculty members.
This camp was conducted on the 15th of March, 2010 which comprised of a presentation by a Gynaecologist and a Physiotherapist.
It also included tests like a General check up, Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure & ECG.
The emphasis was on ‘Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity’.
Science Day Celebrations
The Science Day was celebrated at our school on the 26th of February’10
to generate awareness and interest amongst students, to show the importance
of science and scientific research in one’s daily life. The scientific
temperament was brought out of the classrooms to promote science.
The programme began with a small talk on the life history of Sir C.V.Raman
and his discovery. The students of the science club enacted a skit on
Sir Edward Jenner, the scientist who discovered the vaccine for small
pox. The look-alikes of Galileo, Alexander Fleming, Marie Curie, Thomas
Alva Edison, Charles Darwin, Wright Brothers and Graham Bell briefed the
gathering about their discoveries.
A science exhibition was organized in the auditorium which comprised of
70 to 80 exhibits. The day brought forth love for the subject and tapped
the inquisitive minds of our young enthusiasts.
Every individual is unique. Opting for a subject that really doesn’t
interest them could be disastrous. We, at Sree Cauvery felt the need for
a career counseling session, which would help them to discover their true
potential and interest.
A career guidance interactive session was held on Saturday the 20th of
February 2010 for the students of Std IX and Std X. We had invited young
and enthusiastic professionals to brief the students about their respective
fields, their passion and their success stories.

Annual day celebration at Sree Cauvery School which
was held on the 23rd
of December 2009, mesmerized one and
all. Capt.B.M.Muddaiya I.N.(Retd) graced the occassion. The other dignitaries
included the members of the Kodava Samaja and the Kodava Samaja Educational
The formal part of the programme included the prize distribution ceremony
and the presentation of the annual report by the Principal. The programme
began with the KG section dancing to the tunes of A.R Rahman's
and the Primary section tapping to the tunes
of Michael Jackson's 'We are the World'
The main theme of the evening's show was Bharatha Vaibhava
the grandeur of India. The captivating programme attempted to chronicle
the history of the sub-continent, the incredible richness and diversity
of its people, cultures and the intense drama of its past. From the
majestic Himalayas in the far north to the tip of Kanyakumari in the
distant south, our audience discovered a land, whose past is unimaginably
rich and the momentous and moving events in the world history were brought
to life through dance dramas.
The evening ended with all the participants on stage swaying to A R
Rahman's Vande Mataram.
